这是立于哈德良别墅维纳斯神庙旁的一段摘抄，出自法国女作家玛格丽特·尤瑟奈尔的小说《哈德良回忆录》，是的这并不是哈德良亲自写的回忆书信，而是作者写的一部以哈德良视角的小说，书中这封书信是写给他的隔代继承人奥勒留。
关于这本小说，其中有一段让我记忆犹新，也就是我的lofter简介里第一句拉丁语：罗马的边界是世界的边界。
